Installation

11 Steps to Full Protection

STEP 01
⬇️

Download the Installer

Go to cyberguardian.bg, click Download and save CyberGuardian XDR_2.0.2_x64-setup.exe to your Desktop. Only download from the official website.

⚠️Only download from the official website cyberguardian.bg.
STEP 02
💿

Installation

Right-click the file → Run as administrator. If Windows shows a SmartScreen warning → click More info → Run anyway. Follow the installer steps (1–2 minutes).

⚠️You must run as administrator. Without admin rights installation will fail.
STEP 03
🔑

License Activation

On first launch the activation window opens. Enter your license key (format: CG-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXX) and click Activate License. The Dashboard loads on success.

ℹ️Can't find your key? Check Spam/Junk folder or contact support@cyberguardian.bg
STEP 04
⚙️

Settings

Open Settings from the left menu. Fill in your organization details. Add your email account for scanning (Gmail/Outlook/Yahoo) using an App Password — not your main password.

STEP 05
🛡️

Windows Service — Most Critical Step

Open Process Protection → click Install Service → approve UAC → click Start Service. You must see ✅ Service Installed and ✅ Service Running. Also enable Self-Healing and Maximum Protection.

⚠️Without Service the machine does NOT appear in Managed Devices and is NOT fully protected.
STEP 06
🚫

Enable Blocking

Open Detection Overview → click Enable Blocking. Status must become Blocking: Active ✅. Without this the system only detects threats but does not block them.

STEP 07

Real-Time Protection

Open Protection → click Protection Status to activate monitoring. Select Sensitivity Profile: Medium is recommended for most organizations.

STEP 08
🔍

Initial Scan

Open Scan → run Quick Scan (~2 min) → Standard Scan (~10 min) → Deep Scan (~30+ min). Run Deep Scan outside business hours — it does not significantly impact performance.

STEP 09
📋

File Integrity Monitoring

Open Integrity → click Generate Manifest (creates SHA-256 checksums) → click Verify All Files. Status must show HEALTHY ✅.

STEP 10
🔒

Tamper Protection

Open Tamper Protection → Start Watchdog → Verify → Config → Enable Protection. Status must show System Protected (green) ✅.

STEP 11
🪤

Honeypots

Open Honeypots from the left menu. You will see 9 active honeypot traps showing "Live". The traps run automatically — no setup required. Optionally click "Verify traps" to confirm all are active.

Final Verification

Is everything set up correctly?

Detection Rate shows 100%
Protection status is Active
Service Installed and Service Running are active
Enable Blocking is active
Integrity status is HEALTHY
Tamper Protection shows System Protected
All 9 Honeypots are active
Email account added in Settings
Quick Scan, Standard Scan and Deep Scan completed
Congratulations! The machine is fully protected by CyberGuardian XDR.
